And Then There Was One…. (More)

Meet Milo

We were gone this weekend celebrating our upcoming anniversary since I will be working on the actual day. When we came home yesterday, there was a furry lump laying up against the barn door. I made hubs stop the vehicle and ran over to check, worrying something had gotten into our barn and hurt our chickens & ducks.

I was wrong. It was a kitten. Milo the kitten. The name was on my tongue as soon as he looked up at me. I’m guessing the chickens and ducks were the only sign of life around our place, so he just waited there.

There isn’t much to him. He doesn’t have much meat on his bones, and I’m guessing he should still be with his momma, but I haven’t saw any other animals around here… He and I were both very happy I had milk replacement on hand in the freezer. He knows how to eat, so thankfully I didn’t have to bottle feed him, but he was starving and the milk seemed more familiar than the cat food.

He is a love. And loves to be under foot! He has already adopted me as his buddy.

So now I’m trying to talk his grandmother (my mother) into adopting Milo.

All in favor say “I”!

I!

Unless of coarse one of you dear readers are interested???

Of coarse if she doesn’t adopt him, he will be taken care of here with the rest of our menagerie.

Bethany About Bethany

I am a prisoner of the highway, farmer and lover of Mother Nature, the moon and stars, my long and low, flat-top Peterbilt, chickens, cats, dogs, horses, cooking, photography, tattoos, tea pots and vintage barnifacts…among other things. I’m also a very, happily married, third-generation truck driver. My career choice is both demanding and rewarding, just like most things in life that are truly good.

  1. Bethany, MIlo is just too cute!! You have to take him in Rosie with you!! He looks like a ‘lover’ type kitty. All he wants is some ‘lov’in’!!

  2. Steph in Oregon says:

He is adorable! These animals that plant themselves in front of you and won’t budge are so brave and most always show deep appreciation to their new family. Lucky is the one who takes Milo.

  3. I love that Milo was guided to your door. I hope Grandma gives in.32

Grandma is willing its just going to be getting Grandpa on board. I really am up for the next abandon baby, Beth was good enough to take Jack (who found me on a country road in a corn field)! Someone had skidded his little face down the hwy. when they threw him out.

I love this kitten . . . and I see by the way he is looking at you that he loves you already. You are such a sweetheart! Good luck getting him to your mother’s, he is home already. Love & Hugs

Hi Therese~ How are you? I do love Milo and I’m pretty sure he thought of me as Mom! But he has went to a great home, and thankfully I get visiting rights!
