Dirty Ducks

The weather has been a little weird around here for April. Last Monday I headed off to Houston Texas, and as I kissed Hubs goodbye I told him that hopefully we’d be working our gardens when I got home. And then on Thursday of last week we had over a foot of snow, (that I was thankfully not home for.) Then over the weekend we had even more snow/sleet/freezing rain to contend with.

Living on a farm means all of that moisture does nothing but create muddy conditions and hold up anything to do with gardening.

Our gardens, which I am still waiting to play in are still sitting in water and really, the only ones who are enjoying the mess is Dolly and Rufus. I thought I would share a few pictures of their stroll through the mud!

Bethany About Bethany

I am a prisoner of the highway, farmer and lover of Mother Nature, the moon and stars, my long and low, flat-top Peterbilt, chickens, cats, dogs, horses, cooking, photography, tattoos, tea pots and vintage barnifacts…among other things. I’m also a very, happily married, third-generation truck driver. My career choice is both demanding and rewarding, just like most things in life that are truly good.

  1. Same here in the Northwest, a week or two of unseasonably sunny weather followed by Hollywood downpours, hail and temps in the 30’s. Frog choruses and water fowl on the low spots, all promises that one day we can plant our gardens. Just waiting on Mother Nature. Say Hello to Dolly for me, the embassador of your domain.

  2. You were in Houston!? Dang, wish I’d known… that’s only about 2.5 hours from me.
