Just east of Tucumcari New Mexico the weather went to heck… The snow was heavy and wet, and although not fun to drive in, beautiful to look at.
Change. 150 miles or so and the weather had improved greatly.
I slept in Jamestown New Mexico and when I got up around 1 am to head to Phoenix this light show was waiting for me at a near by refinery.
Waiting on the sun. Sunset Point Rest area, Arizona.

Those are beautiful pictures, Bethany.
Thank you Carl!
Beautiful pics Bethany.
What kind of camera are
you using?
Thank you! I use a Canon Rebel XT with a Tokina 12-24mm wide angle lens for most of my shooting… It’s become my favorite lens to use since I do so much truck and/or scenery shooting.
I have to agree great photo’s. I’m a bit of a Camera nut (still/video/film) I’m waiting on my Canon D7 it will be my new baby. I have way to many cameras already but having one more couldn’t hurt right? LOL
Steve~ We are going to have to meet some time… Not only am I jealous of that 7D, I would love to check it out!! Never enough cameras and I totally understand the baby. Between my truck, Mac, and Canon I’m past the help stage…
Good view of the mountains near Picacho Peak in that last one
I know that area well!
Kelly~ I love this view. It is such beautiful country, if possible I try to park here so I can wake up to this view… I’m always let down though, when, in the morning I can’t go out onto my front porch with a cup of coffee to enjoy the view!
Hi Bethany,
I also found your blog via the Daily Coyote site. I love your blog & check you out often. I like your sensibilities out on the road as well as your great eye for taking pictures. Be safe out there.
P.S. I can’t wait to try making a batch of your baked potatoes with cream cheese, YUM. Best Regards.
I love the way Rosie’s nose and your hood ornament are the constants in the pictures! It is your signature.
