May I Inspire Your Wanderlust?

South Dakota Storms

Some days I just feel like wandering When I have these feelings, I take in everything around me as if I was a sponge. I wish I could explain it, but on these days I feel like everything is so new, and I am in awe of the world around me. Even the rain storms & snow I woke to was welcome sight. If I could urge you all to do one thing, it would be to slow down a bit and look at the world around you. It truly is magical.

Photography Tools of ‘My’ Trade

Remote Shutter Release

I get a lot of questions about what kind of camera I use. I am always so glad to hear that people like my photos, but I promise it is not because of my camera or even more importantly ME—I think for the most part it is the lens I'm using, lighting and the scenery around me. Nothing is more important than lighting, lots of natural lighting as I rarely, if ever use flash. Some basic Photoshop skills are good too. I use an entry level Canon T1i for almost everything I shoot and I use numerous lenses (Telephoto,

A Quick Trip West

IMG_3615

It's been over a year since I took a trip west. I ended up with a nice little run that I did in 5 days, which took me out to Idaho and back home again. My route was set so that I delivered first in Casper WY then off to Riverton WY and my last stop was in Blackfoot ID. I then reloaded in Twin Falls ID and enjoyed the trip immensely. I was even lucky enough to get to run on some roads that I had never been on before, so it was a real treat! Here are some hood shots of the trip! This was on the edge of the Grand Teton

Just a Little Ride With My Hubs

hisnhers

I really never had any intention of posting this anywhere. BUT, seeing Hubs and I don't get to run together as much as we would like I thought I'd take video. Then when I started watching it, I could see a different view of how it looks to turn a truck on corners and I thought I would show you. Don't worry, it may look like it, but I don't run anything over! Trucks need a good amount of room to move, and even though I meet a lot of people who are willing to give me that room, I run into even more people who are mad as

Take a Ride-Highway 60 Arizona

newmexicosunrise

This is a short trip across HWY 60 in Arizona just west of Show Low. The ride I'm about to take you on is just the tip of the iceberg for what you can and will see on HWY 60. It's beautiful country! For a trucker I think, with a loaded wagon HWY 60 is a lot of work and you had best be prepared and know your truck, how to handle it, and what lies ahead. Sometime when I have the chance I will video more of the ride. By the time I got into most of the pulling/downhill grades I had lost most of my light.

Up North

IMG_7637

So I snuck away for a few days to my parents house. I figured since I have a huge amount of time off right now, I wanted to go visit family while I had the chance. Unfortunately, Hubs stayed behind because of work but it gave Mom and I some girl time together even though it goes way too fast, and I never get to see everyone I want to! The one thing you get to see a lot of is animals while at my parents. Mom has a herd of deer she feeds numerous times a day. And the other morning while her and I were having coffee I
