Most people mistake this little guy for a hummingbird or bee. I absolutely adore these little guys although I don't think I had ever seen one until I moved down to Southwestern Minnesota. For years I have been trying to catch these guys in action, but they are quick and usually hard to get photos of. I lucked out while we were enjoying the beautiful weather and a beer up by the garden the other night. For everyone who poo-pooed me on planting early, all I can say this year is I GOT LUCKY! This is the best stand of carrots I've ever had thus far!
